So then, after a blistering start to the voyage, I had to get brought back down to earth sooner or later. And it turned out to be sooner.
As I feared, the winds got bored of coming from the north, and swung right around to come from the south. Given that I’m heading west across the ocean, this may not seem like a horrendous thing. However, not only is Antigua several hundred miles south of here, but so are helpful winds. If I end up going too far west without going south, it’ll make life a lot more difficult for me in the long run.
So, for the last 24 hours I’ve been sat on my magical para-anchor. Not only has this prevented me being blown north, but I’ve actually been going slightly south!
Thankfully the winds are forecast to change imminently, and I should be back to making positive progress.
In the meantime, I’m going to attempt to go all multimedia on you with some pictures. Let’s hope it works!
