I have absolutely nothing of interest whatsoever to say today. It may be pointed out this is not the first time, but today it doesn’t seem like a particularly bad thing; today’s been good.
Torn between the desire for a good sleep following Thursday’s rough night, and the need to row as much as possible to maintain my northerly position, I decided, not altogether surprisingly, to go for the former! But, I did regular check my progress through the night, all set to rush out and fight the weather. To my delight, I was only delicately nudged south a few miles, which was a bit of a relief - whether I would have abandoned my bed or not, I’m really not sure.
After a thoroughly lazy start at 10 o’clock (conveniently, with the time difference, I can excuse this by thinking of it as 7 o’clock, yet I somehow always think in GMT when deciding when to stop for the night), I set about getting myself to Antigua. The weather can’t be described as helpful today, but at least it didn’t hinder progress, which was a nice change. And progress has been made; we reached 39° west just before dinner.
So there you have it. Six weeks in, I’m closer to Antigua than Gomera, and I deliver the dullest blog of them all. To be honest, a non-eventful day once in a while isn’t a bad thing!
